I've had my interview and passed, so got an assessment day coming up. What happens if I get through that?

Maccalad, 19th?
I think that if successful at assessment the next stage would be a medical. I assume that this depends on how many pass and how many are needed.

Willi. My assessment day is on the 18th in Doncaster. It's bizarre, because I was hoping it would be Manchester, so I have had to plan ahead and book a hotel - I don't want to risk being late, and we all know what the M62 can be like in a morning!

I really don't know what to expect, but I've worked through the workbook test materials.

I assume that you have an assessment?

How's the course Dave?
How did 1st week go?

Hiya mate,

The first week isn't too bad as it's mostly corporate stuff, you may touch on some track safety stuff and things like that but it's primarily in the second week.
A lot of info comes at you quickly though and it's a case of making notes then revising at home. Very strange If like me you've not been in a classroom for a while.
Some things are sticking in my head and others aren't but it's better than my old job!!

Maccalad, I'm Doncaster also.

I am unsure what to expect too. I've been through the workbook and taken note of advice on there. There is useful information on this forum too.

I think from what I have read that it is best not to overthink anything and to stay calm. It's something that you can't prepare too much for, which I guess is the whole point.

I'm nearly 2 hours from Doncaster so I booked a hotel also. I don't want my mind fogged with traffic stress on the day of the tests. The M62 is far too much of a risk!

Fingers crossed, I hope that you get through the day and onto the next stage! Best of luck.

What an experience the assessment day is!

I was told on the day that I have passed the assessment, so I am happy.

I have also received an email today advising that I am an "on hold" candidate........what does this mean, and when can I expect to hear something?

Hoping for some movement soon!

I was on hold for about 3 weeks whilst they awaited more course dates. I start on the 28th of this month. You may get on the January course? It's all about being patient and just reminding HR every now and then.
