Is the Northern Kirkby Line now a Self Contained Diagram?? Normally a 150/1?? i've noted 150150 on it yesterday and seen 150113 (the cctv 150) on it most of today just wondered if its entirely self contained now?

It is pretty much self contained all day with the booked 2 x 150's shuttling between Kirkby & Bolton all day.

Just while Farnworth Tunnel is closed and Kirkby services are diverted to Bolton.

Longterm will we retain a Bolton service or Revert to Atherton's? i heard it may become a Wigan-Kirkby shuttle?

Because of the train diverting most Kirkby line passengers now change to the tpe train from Northwestern to get to Manchester

Up to the bidders for the next franchise to decide best use of stock, the franchise timetable requirement is an hourly service for Kirkby line stations to Manchester approx. 6am-6pm (not specifying route after Pemberton) with a written requirement for an additional Wigan-Kirkby service after 7:15pm, so 13 services per day Kirkby to Manchester and 14 Wigan-Kirkby. It also specifies that one service must leave Orrell towards Manchester between 3:45 and 4pm (for students).

There is however no requirement for Kirkby-Manchester services on Sundays.

60 services per day Wigan via Bolton
86 services per day Wigan via Atherton

13 services per day to Manchester-Kirkby +1 Kirkby-Wigan after 7:15pm
30 services per day to Manchester-Southport +1 Wigan-Southport after 7:15pm and 1 Southport-Wigan after 11pm
