I’m travelling from Upminster to Bridlington today (return tomorrow).
Due to the Northern strike I’ve booked to Scarborough and will complete the journey by taxi. Tomorrow I will get a lift back to Seamer.
I hadn’t thought of delay repay but presumably could have claimed if I’d booked to Bridlington. Can I still make a claim for the taxi as this is entirely down to the Northern strike?

Not strictly, as your contract with the railway is to transport you to Scarborough, and if they achieve that, then they've fulfilled their end of the bargain.

However, a polite email to Northern customer services explaining the situation may bear fruit, and you're more likely to get a bus fare (120/121) reimbursed than a taxi fare.
