Starting today, Sunday 7th October 2012, major changes are being made to the ticketing and entrance areas of Nottingham Midland Station. It is now all barricaded off with metal gating, which is going to be nuisance to those who don't know about the project, especially, as there are current road works at the junction of Carrington St and Station St and scaffolding around the Bentinck Hotel.
For the next year and a half construction work, both, for the railway and tram network access, will necessitate passengers walking further to obtain your tickets and other travel advice from the new temporary East Midlands Trains offices, which are now located opposite Capital One's Corporate HQ Building on Station Street. There are some ticket machines on the pavement on Station Street, however, they may cause confusion for first time users and when it's raining there are no protective areas to stand. To gain access to the platforms from Station St. you have to use the footbridge.
Just thought this info. may be of use to some of you if you expect to travel by train from here in the next 18 months.
