From the Nottingham Evening Post today…..

Interestingly, this is a plain section of track, with no points etc, but I seem to recall there’s always been a bit of a hump where the track passes over the River Leen.

*this is by no means meant as a reason, just a statement of fact!!*

“A tram has come off the tracks in Nottingham. NET, the operator, has reported 'significant' disruption as a result.

According to the operator the incident happened between Wilkinson Street and David Lane just before 7.30am on Friday, September 30. The incident is affecting all services.

It is understood there are no reported injuries and engineers are now investigating. A bogie (or wheel truck) misaligned with the track, according to NET. A spokesman for NET says: "One of the bogies lost contact and alignment with the track.

"Engineers are investigating the problem. There is disruption but passengers are asked to follow social media for the latest updates.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

NET added: "We are very sorry for the ongoing disruption to our service this morning. We are working very hard to resolve the issue. We will update you further once we are running to all our destinations again."”

Interestingly, if you are familiar with the layout at Highbury Vale, southbound trams are terminating at David’s Lane, then operating wrong road to Highbury Vale and using the rarely used crossover to gain the correct route.

Sorry to dig up an old thread; but is this why there’s a 50 TSR from Wilkinson Street to Highbury Vale?
