Anyone know about the extensive work ongoing at Lowestoft? All the remaining dockside sidings have been ripped up and there are new track panels stacked up on the site I read that NR wanted to sell the land - is someone installing a viable freight connection to the wharves again?

Do not forget last October NR put in a new facing cross over at the old coke ovens junction site for direct access to the yard . Apart from maintaining a connection with APB together with a couple of sidings for sand and stone traffic that's about all it can be used for. The track panels are for the big shut down in a week or so when the station layout is remodelled.

The sidings are being done to include a concrete pad for stone. They are not being sold but brought back into use including tamper sidings and a run round. No more remodelling for the Station as it is as it will be.
