Good afternoon,

Does any one know if it possible to buy from somewhere an old copy (around 1972-1975 approx) copy of the Thomas Cook European Timetable, which shows and still shows services internationally and and within most countries of Western Europe.?

Tks Steve.

The only place I can think of is Ebay.

I've seen really old BR timetables on there, so there might be the odd Thomas Cook too.

I don't know, but it might be worth contacting Thomas Cook themselves, just to see if they have anything in their archives?

Many thanks for these suggestions, I tried them all and VCT came up trumps, :D they had a March-April 1974 copy in very good condition, it makes facinating reading, (Aren't I a saddo?!) and was only GBP £ 7.50 including P&P. The service was very good and delivery was most prompt. I may go back to them and see if they have a copy for the period 1960-1965 approx.

I dont thisk its sad (does that make me sad?)

What's sad if anything is that the era that it represents has gone and you can't use it to find out where your next long distance international loco hauled journey will take you!

Contact me off list if you wish as I have individual old European railway timetables and a representative collection of old Cooks timetables - I once worked for them

I have a very tatty old copy which I took everywhere when I once went interrailling. Woudn't it be great if a few Cook's timetables were online, so we could all enjoy browsing them.

When I contacted Thos Cook re the above old timetables, they said they do have file/ref copies going back many years, but as they only have one of each edition, they can not leave their building, although it may be possible to make an appointment too see one of these copies.

No offence meant, I have sent you a PM as you mentioned above.
