Hi EthanD78 and welcome to the forum.

class 313 is right - openBVE is, strictly speaking, not a new version of BVE, but a wholly new train simulator, that has been built to run BVE routes.

As a consequence, it will have many new features, but many of them will only apply when the route is run in openBVE. If you try to run a route written for openBVE (and there are few of them), in BVE, you will encounter error messages in BVE.

Hope that's clear...

At the moment, it seems that some developers are trying to ensure that their BVE routes will run in openBVE. Some openBVE versions of routes are in development, but as far as I'm aware, none have been released yet...

I have this feeling that says that trainsimming in 2009 is going to get so much better...

Regards

FEVF has updated to OpenBVE.
http://fevf.altervista.org/index.html
I have downloaded others, and I don't want to offend any other great route builders, but I had the OpenBVE startup opened to this route when I read your message.

There are trolly cars and a steam engine also.
I will try to look up some of the other trains and routes that I have and maybe post some links later.

OpenBVE is at 094 now. We are getting close!

What error message are you getting? Have you followed the download instructions on the openBVE site?

Dont forget, the download off the site does NOT include all of the files. You need others, im not sure where to get them from though. This will be your problem.

Be sure to go to the OpenBVE site and copy down all the instructions. You will have to download a couple of open source programs. I did step by step what they said on the OpenBVE site, and I sucessfully ran a route on my first try.

Did you know, all trains compatible with BVE2 are also compatible with BVE4, but not vice versa. Some BVE4 compatible trains are compatible with BVE2, but not the panel

I did know that, but was it really worth the bumping of a one year old thread for that?
