Nah, its not a 50 ( ;) )

I wish I had known before hand, that might have been worth going out for, although the weather is awful!

I can't comment on the GBRf train but I know the Virgin livered 47 did run it was near Bristol Parkway at 1455. Also the GBRf train may not have even been scheduled to run into Newport as Caerwent is before Newport but the train would need to reverse somewhere, Newport may have been that place.

GBRf Scrappers always run to Newport so i'm not sure as to whether they go through the station. The Freightliner ones always go to Caerwent and I have no idea where that is, but I can confirm that the GBRf one from Shoebury did not run.

caerwent be north or chepstow iirc, a little town where someone special to me lives.... well currently she lives near severn tunnel junction but I would have imagined that it can go straight up to caerwent somehow.... i'll look into it!

Caerwent is at the end of a 2 mile branch which leaves the Newport-Gloucester line at Caldicot.
