Presumably this one, which in the "route finder" shows the 607 as going to Bromley North!

They've even got the 427 & 607 wrong on the route finder, 427 is listed as express the 607 going around centre of Uxbridge, even the 607[427] stops are confusing with journeys to Uxbridge included as outbound journeys.

I have the info I need now, thank you very much guys for all your suggestions!

I am aware of the Oxford Tube and the advance fares, I will try it one day but it defeats the object of what is basically an adventure by local buses rather than a quick express run into London :)

Thanks again guys,

James.

The Maidenhead network operated by Courtney (that I mentioned earlier) is currently out to re-tender, so there may be further changes on that patch at some point soon.

Think the Reading - Twyford - Maidenhead route is a Wokingham council rather than Windsor / Maidenhead one, though.

As a fan of the Optare Spectra double-decker, the finest bus to grace the streets of London this last quarter century imo, this unleashes a fantasy. The only routes to operate these buses were, I think, the 607 and the 3/N3, and the latter reached Bromley North, so I envisage an express route, via the 94 over the Shepherd's Bush to Oxford Circus gap. I think two operating companies/garages would have to be allowed for this exceptional route.:)

That would rival the late lamented 726 (and the surviving 402) for longest route from Bromley :)

Agreed about the Spectras, by the way.

Don't forget the 725 too.:)

Glad to read of your support for the Spectra. For reasons I won't go into, I once had occasion to mention to Peter Hendy, when he headed Centrewest bus company, of my love for these buses and he agreed too!

There was only a small batch of Spectra's delivered, think all Spectra's were allocated to Camberwell for route 3, & often strayed onto other Camberwell garage operated routes. Uxbridge garage never had any Spectra's allocated, as 607 had Northern Counties Palatine 2 Olympians allocated when the 607 was converted to deckers.

I believe Uxbridge did at least try out a Spectra on the 607. East London operated one too on a service to Lakeside Shopping Centre cheekily using the old Green Line route number 723, a bus which I've seen described as being 'ex-Metroline' so the mystery deepens!

I know there is one which goes from Bracknell to London which is stop service. Number is 702.

Any new bus routes coming up from Wokingham to London ??? Also, I don't see any National Express stops or routes going via Bracknell / Wokingham.

Forgot East London had one which was the only duel door Spectra in London, as London Central's were, unusually for London single door.

189 from Brent Cross Bus Station will take you to Oxford Circus, right opposite the former BHS 'flagship' store, now boarded-up I read!

Route 189 was diverted to Marble Arch yesterday. You might like to travel Oxford - Aylesbury - Watford - route 142 to Edgware then route 113 direct to Oxford Circus. Route 113 was diverted back there yesterday, in a direct swap with route 189.
