Just checking, does this look right (IE, I haven't been charged too much):

23:28 - 00:08 - Covent Garden to Ealing Common - £0.00 (£13.80)
18:06 - 18:50 - Ealing Common to Covent Garden - £0.00 (£13.80)
15:46 - 16:24 - Oxford Circus to Ealing Common - £0.00 (£13.80)
14:43 - 14:52 - Covent Garden to Piccadilly Circus - £0.40 (£13.80)
13:16 - 13:36 - South Kensington to Covent Garden - £1.90 (£14.20)
10:59 - 11:21 - Ealing Common to South Kensington - £2.50 (£16.10)
09:45 - 10:30 - Euston to Ealing Common - £2.50 (£18.60)

Then:

15:02 - 15:49 - Ealing Common to Euston - £0.40 (£26.50)
15:02 - 15:02 - Auto top-up - £20.00 (£26.90)
14:14 - 14:50 - Oxford Circus to Ealing Common - £2.50 (£6.90)
12:32 - 12:47 - Embankment to Green Park - £1.90 (£9.40)
10:50 - 11:28 - Ealing Common to Westminster - £2.50 (£11.30)

There were a few points where I struggled to touch in or out. What happens if it's not registered when I touch out but I manage to get through the barrier?

Thanks

That looks fine - it appears to have capped correctly, and there are no incomplete journeys here, which would show if you failed to touch in/out :)

If you don't touch in/out on a particular journey, you will be charged a 'maximum cash fare' which does not count towards your daily cap. :)

Looks fine to me too. Capped at £7.30 both times which is the zone 1-4 off-peak cap. If you are touching in or out on gates then the gates won't open unless the card registers properly. With platform validators you just need to get a green light, even if sometimes you might get a red light straight away afterwards. If you know what your balance should be then you can check whether it's in or out by the prescence or otherwise of the entry charge (usually £6.50 peak/£4.40 off-peak). As Mike said, if you don't touch out or in but do make the opposite touch, then this entry charge (exit charge) will be permanently deducted and not count towards the cap, even if you've already capped for the day.
