Anybody know why NR stations are not given as options for start/end of journey when requesting a refund? Also many of my requests for a refund do not even get a response from Oystercard! Is it because Oystercard staff are overwhelmed by the processing of the £60M refunds each year? Thanks.

Is there a specific station you had in mind? I just logged into my account on Oyster Online and a number of National Rail stations were listed as an option for picking up the refund from (including Raynes Park if that is the one you were thinking of, going by your Username).

They are. Last time I had a refund I asked for it at Victoria and the woman on the helpline asked if I wanted it at Victoria underground or national rail.

You're talking at cross purposes here. All oysterised NR stations are available as places to pick up top-up or a refund that has been agreed. However, if you select "Help & Contact" at the top of the page, click on "Make a complaint", then "Oyster", then "Fares and Refunds" and open the drop down boxes for from and to stations you will see they are sadly lacking a lot of stations. They haven't even got the FGW stations that joined Oyster before Jan 2010, nor the LO stations south of New Cross Gate. They just don't seem to care. They even ignored my email asking them why the stations don't appear.

I agree with the previous posts and would suggest phoning rather than emailing/webforming to request any refunds, because indications are that the webform/email boxes often don't get read.

I got a refund at Forest Hill (ELL station south of New Cross Gate) but had to go through the Oyster helpline to get it.

Incidentally, when I asked for a refund on behalf of my mother who accidentally tapped in when there were no trains to West Croydon, I contacted LOROL on her behalf and they sent her a NR travel voucher instead of going through the helpline.
