I’ll be doing this trip, from Newcastle upon Tyne to Corbridge, for a meal at the Valley restaurant at Corbridge station, for the first time tonight, with 3 other people.
As has been mentioned previously on the forum: “Our trained, smartly dressed staff will greet you at the station, at 5.30pm under the clock. They will welcome you and your guests and escort you by train to The Valley at Corbridge. The orders are taken on the train from our full à la Carte menu and will be ready on your arrival. Drinks are served on the train”.
The current price is £56.50, including the 5 course meal and train tickets, but not the drinks served on the train.
As this is a package where the restaurant books the train tickets, I had wondered whether they manage to (formally or informally) ‘reserve’ seats on the train for a group to sit together. A previous reviewer said that on the outward journey there were no formal reservations, but a very aggressive waiter putting off non-restaurant customers !
I’ll be reporting live on the experience !
