Hi,
As the title suggest I have passed the first stage of my Interview at national standard level. Unfortunately the company y I was applying for wanted the higher pass. My question is, which companies can i apply for with this level of pass?

Thank you

South Western Railway & Great Western Railway. Not sure on how the passes stay valid for maybe someone else knows for sure? Usually between 2-5 years depending on the TOC I think.

The tests are valid for 5 years as standard but I know SWR will only accept up to 3 years. I'm not entirely sure about GWR even though you'd think it would be the same as SWR as they are essentially owned by the same parent company.

SWR will use test passes for 3 years, GWR for 5 years.

hi, can some one advise me as I took the 1st assessment tests last year with the opc- I passed the first 3 to advanced level then failed the tea-occ. I have been invited to another assessment day (not with opc) and I have to do all tests again- I thought my enhanced passes were saved?
Thanks

GBRF also accept national standard but normally like all tests to have been passed previously.

Who are the tests with (FOC/TOC)? Generally you would only need to do the ones you had failed but some companies have different policies.

This assessment centre I have coming up is GWR. Had an email to say I have to do them all again even though I passed the first 3 last year (including group bourdon).

Ah OK... maybe @Stigy can answer this one. I passed my assessments with SWR and GWR only wanted me to do the MMI, which I did.

Have recruitment told you that you must resit them all? I had a similar thing with TPE where they wanted me to do them all again. When I queried it, it turned out that it was the Group Bourdon I needed to do again as they needed an enhanced pass (mine was to national standard)

Then I guess you'll have to weigh up whether you want to do the tests again and hope that you pass them all, or wait for a TOC that will only require you to resit the test that you failed. Unfortunately you only get 2 chances at the tests so you'll need to consider whether its worth the risk.

I’ve heard GWR doing this sometimes too. Like you, I passed mine with SWR (although I did the MMI and the enhanced ones with Freightliner), and GWR were fine with this. It was complicated as I passed with SWR 3.5 years ago so would have had to retake the majority again if I stayed with them, but GWR would take the results for 5-years. I had to weigh up if I wanted to risk retaking them and failing, this being back at square one, or jumping ship. So I jumped ship.
