Hello, glad I found this forum, you all seem like a great lot of people.

I have a question and no one seems clear on the answer, hoping someone here could give me clarification.

Last year I passed all assessments to be a trainee train driver with FCC, I also passed the competancy interview but failed the line manager interview.

They said in my letter the results would be valid 3 years.

Now I have another trainee driver interview in the next 2 weeks and this company have told me I'll have to do a 'criterion interview' and a personality test possibly followed by a manager interview.

I am wondering if I fail this will that count as 2 fails ie, I can never try again or does that only apply to the assessments ie, bourdon, merchanical etc? I ask being there is another that I currently work for that will be holding trainee tests/interviews shortly after and I want to be able to go to that as well.

I am also wondering if a 'criterion interview' is the same as a 'competancy interview'. Seems weird that I have to do it again if I passed it first time around. And I didn't have to do a personality test last year either!

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

This sounds like you're taking a punt at LOROL. A lady I work with on NXEA is in a similar situation.

I would ask LOROL whether the "criterion interview" is the same as the "competency interview" you had with FCC. If so you should tell them that you have already taken and passed this with FCC and that you have been lead to believe that the pass was still valid.

As for the "2 strikes and out" policy, I believe that this applies only to the tests and assessments. You've passed all of these already so they should remain valid. Therefore there should be no restriction on how many trainee driver vacancies you can apply for.

I'm going to check some of the details later, as what I've posted above is just based on my own understanding. However, I really think you should phone the company and ask them about the criterion interview.

Best of luck...!! :)

Can anyone tell me if you have passed the standard trainee train drivers assesment but then sit the additaional assesments ,with FCC, but fail these, does this then overtake your standard assesment results, and put you on one failure ?

Thanks,
Donachie.

I would imagine the original tests would still stand on their own, as you only need the extra tests for FCC

I believe the only interview you need to pass is the structured interview to keep your results validated.all the other interviews are additional interviews in which should not cancel out your pass sounds like your results are valid for three years so you can apply for other jobs, not all companies insist on extra results just your main one anyway good luck

Hi
Thank you for reply guys. Well I did assessment with FCC because I work for them as platform staff. This Feb. they opened the trainee train driver vacancy internally. I have passed Psychometric, concentration, mechanical and DTG test but failed in CBI and manager interview. They sent me letter that results are valid for three year.
