Just wondering if anybody knew anything about a slightly mysterious charter which was appearing on the screens at Northallerton yesterday- I arrived at the station at about 0920 in good time for the 0952 Liverpool train to find that the first train on the departure boards was an 0800 southbound Private Charter showing as indefinitely delayed. It was still there when the 0952 turned up and by then was showing as the second or third train.

Most of the southbound trains I saw were delayed by a few minutes but I couldn't see any reference to a charter picking up in that part of the world in any publication or online. I did wonder whether a football charter had possibly been put into the system for Middlesbrough's game at Everton before the game was moved to 5.15 for the television but never taken out.

Any ideas?

We have had an issue with this. Darwin is a pile of steaming **** and kept showing a "Charter train" that apparently stopped at Watford, when interrogating the schedules:

a) It does not stop at Watford, it was merely timed to pass through;
b) It was not activated, it never ran, it is just a (Q) path to run once in a blue moon;
c) We could not do anything about it as it was not our TOCs service!

So guess the problem has spread...

Edit:
Excuse the bear :lol:

It has happened recently at MKC as well and was the Carnforth - Southall path shown linked above.

The path gets used by WCRC when they want to move stock or engines south.
