Hi, I was wondering if someone can provide clarification as to the boundaries of a Plusbus ticket in metropolitan areas. I give a couple of examples:

Stockport Plusbus: http://www.plusbus.info/stockport

At the top of the page it says:
A Stockport PLUSBUS ticket gives you unlimited bus travel around the Greater Manchester zone including Stockport, as shown by the travel maps (below).
When you click on the word zone in the quoted sentence, it gives a map showing all of Greater Manchester. However, the travel map zone diagram 'below' only seems to show a smaller area around Stockport and Stalybridge.

Similarly, for Stourbridge, Lye Plusbus: http://www.plusbus.info/stourbridge

At the top of the page it says:
A Stourbridge or Lye PLUSBUS ticket gives you unlimited bus & tram travel around the West Midlands zone including Stourbridge, as shown by the travel map (below).
When you click on the word zone in the quoted sentence, it gives a map showing all of the West Midlands. However, the travel map zone diagram 'below' only seems to show a smaller area around Stourbridge.

Does anyone know for each of these whether it is the larger or smaller area that the Plusbus ticket is valid?

Thanks
Kel

It's the larger map. The smaller, more focussed one is there for the aid of those unfamiliar with the area, who will want to know whether the hospital/school/football ground is covered by the PlusBus.

It's not clear with the smaller map, but it is anything shaded in olive green. You'll notice that extends beyond the map to the north and west.

It's like that to make it clear where the boundaries are, because some biggish places like New Mills and Glossop are not in the zone.

Errr, Smethwick!
PlusBus tickets issued for any station in the Network West Midlands area (the West Midlands metropolitan county) are valid throughout the county on any operator in the NWM scheme, same as the nbus ticket but also including Midland Metro.

So you could have a Stourbridge PlusBus or Wolverhampton PlusBus and travel all the way to, say, Coventry by bus or Midland Metro.
