I don't have a problem with 'Trains Wales by Arriva'
Huh? But that doesn't even make sense.
Do you dog the walk in the park?
Or see a cinema at the movie?

I always read it as "Arriva Trains (Wales)". Changing it to "Wales Trains (by Arriva)" would make a little more sense but there's no point as Arriva won't do anything with their Welsh franchise - they're giving it up, so doing anything over and above their contractual obligations is a waste of money for them.

I’m not bothered if they use ‘by Arriva’ or not on their trains.

It would be interesting to see ‘Arriva Trains Wales by Arriva’ though.

I'm personally not bothered which way Arriva is used in the branding of all the TOCs they operate but agree with other posters that it should be consistent but i think that having Arriva at the beginning eg Arriva Trains Wales does roll off the tongue slightly better for announcements. Trains Wales by Arriva sounds slightly clunky to me.

If it's 'by Arriva' it won't be used in announcements.

Personally I think subsidaries should be required to display who their top owner is. Largely to educate people how many things are owned by a handful of companies.

So yeah, totally good with them doing this.

See, I was thinking this at first. However, I think many people don't care what company runs / owns their trains, as long as they are clean and on time. I have met some people who still think it's all run by British Rail!

It's no different to approaches taken by many other non-rail companies e.g. 'This is LBC from Global'. What's the big deal?

Certainly better than just giving all their companies a genetic 'Arriva' name and branding.
