Hi,
I travel from Luton to Feltham each weekday.
This week its Good Friday so i only need 4 days travel.
Is there any way of reducing the price of the weekly season ticket since its now only 4 days of travel?

(BTW, thanks massively to all for your help with finding the best way to go for my route in previous posts)

@faringdon. What times of the day do you normally travel, out and back, and how much are you currently paying for your current (= 7 days?) season ticket? Are you eligible for any applicable railcard?

No, you can't buy season tickets for less than 7 days.

Indeed. Cheapest option might still be for the OP to buy a 7 day season and use it for just the 4 days. But it might also be possible to make modest savings using day tickets / railcard discounts; obviously this will depend on the answers to my post (above).

The season "VIA CITY TL" costs less than 3 Anytime Day Returns/Day Travelcards. An unusually good bargain for the London area!

It won't help you this time, but you can purchase monthly season tickets for 'odd-periods' eg, 1 month 4 days. You can work this around bank holidays, annual leave etc to maximum effect.

Monthly season tickets are normally better value than weekly seasons, especially if you're travelling five days a week.

Thanks, i dont think im elegible for a railcard as im over 40 years old.?
I buy a 7 day season ticket. And travelling time between 6am and about 830am.
These last few weeks i go via Feltham as the kids are off and so i can do the last bit by the 235 Bus from Feltham to sunbury,

So my 7 day season from Luton to Feltham is £143.30. (but i only use it for 5 weekdays, and this week it will only be 4 weekdays as its good friday coming.)

I go via waterloo whatever, since there is a cheaper breakfast at Greggs there.

When the kids are at school...i go "Luton to Hampton 7 day season at £143.30" and then "Hampton to sunbury 7 day season at £21.20".

I have to trog from Blackfriars to Waterloo on foot...but thats not so bad...tis not that far, and quicker than railing it via London Bridge.

The 235 Bus is non useable when the kids are back at school.

Incidentally, i believe there is a monthly season ticket for 8 days travel within a month?......so maybe this could be useful for when you dont have 4 full weeks in the office in the month.
eg, say you have 3 days one week, 2 days the next week, and 3 days the following week...then that kind of 8 days a month ticket would be very handy?

Don't think buying four days' worth of Anytime Day Singles (the return journey back in the afternoon/evening with a Network Railcard discount applied) would save anything compared with the £143.30 route "via City Thameslink" seven day season ticket.

As an aside to your query about next week, you should ask Thameslink about a price for a Luton to Sunbury season ticket. They will usually set a price on request although it may take a few days to process. This might get you a better deal than separate tickets.
