Could anyone tell me what routes are valid on a Preston - London Terminals Off Peak Return?

Obviously there is Virgin throughout, but could I do the following on my return leg?

Kings Cross - Leeds - Preston
Marylebone - Birmingham - Preston

Thanks :)

Marylebone-Birmingham-Preston is 100% valid and I am unsure the via Leeds route is also permitted. For the latter I think you may have to go via Bradford Interchange, Halifax and Hebden Bridge ( York - Blackpool North : Northern Trains). Could someone confirm ?

If on Any Permitted it should be fine for both. If it's routed VIRGIN TRNS ONLY then no.

Mon-Fri peak restrictions:
You can depart London King's Cross between 09:06 and 14:57 (inclusive), and at 18:59 or later.
You can depart London Marylebone before 07:20 and at 11:30 or later.

The shortest route is permitted (along with routes up to 3 miles longer)
Through trains are also permitted as you identify.

In addition the following mapped routes are permitted (both Preston and London Group are routeing points):-

LONDON GROUP - Preston (Lancs):

Thought I'd check this one out myself for fun. However I can't find a valid route in The Guide via Leeds. None of the valid maps mention Kings Cross. MM+PS allows St Pancras to Leeds (MM) but I can find no way on to Preston (PS) without doubling back to Sheffield. Also NRE indicates multiple tickets are required.

I checked the Journey Planner and it offered you a ticket via Leeds so I assumed it was a valid route. Did not check further to see if it was a multiple ticket route. According to the maps Yorkie posted one can go via Sheffield but no mention of Leeds.

Thanks for your assistance everyone. Decided to just get Virgin back in the end.
