The NRE Journey Planner incorrectly displays Anytime pricing for many offpeak journeys to Norwich via London when the return leg from Norwich is a mid-afternoon departure.
The problem is with restriction code 7B:-
The PDF version shows this Evening Peak restriction for RETURN TRAVEL:-
Not valid on any train departing London Liverpool Street between 16:29 and 18:34 inclusive (19:00 for departures from London Kings Cross), between 16:40 and 18:24 inclusive from London Paddington. Not valid on northbound trains departing Seven Sisters before 09:40 nor between 16:45 and 18:49 inclusive. Not valid on northbound trains departing Stratford (London) between 16:36 and 18:41 inclusive. Not valid on northbound trains departing Tottenham Hale before 09:40 nor between 16:41 and 18:40 inclusive. (see notes* below):
However the long-form version of the code is subtly different:-
Evening Peak.
Not valid on any train departing London Terminals between 1629 and 1834 inclusive (1900 for departures from London Kings Cross), or between 1640 and 1824 inclusive from London Paddington, or on trains departing Stratford (London) between 1636 and 1841 inclusive with the followiing exceptions (see notes* below)
Clearly the Journey Planner has been coded using the second version, meaning that passengers returning to destinations served by Waterloo, Victoria etc apparently are not permitted to use any trains departing between 1639 and 1834 unless they buy a significantly more expensive Anytime return ticket! For example, Farnborough Main to Norwich Anytime is £108 whilst the Off-Peak fare is £56.
As these forums are used by railway staff who deal with this type of thing I hope there is a quick fix.
