Isn't it about time that NRE and journey planners highlighted situations where a PTE day ticket would be cheaper than the standard rail ticket?

For example Huddersfield to Leeds Bradford Airport (bus link) shows a rail fare of £10.50 but the Metro WY Day Saver ticket that would cover the journey is only £9.50.

The same happens with the First Bus and Rail Card in South Wales as well. It is cheaper than a standard off-peak day return even with split ticketing.

Yes.

On a similar note if you're planning a day return from Sheffield to Burton on Trent journey planners will offer you an Off Peak Return for £31.60 yet a Derbyshire Wayfarer would cover the same journey and only costs £13.40!
