Hello,

I have a question regarding newer Bombardier units (such as later 377's, 379's and 387's)

They have a small white light just to the right hand side of the coupler (left hand side as you look at it) and I wondered what purpose it served?

It almost seems like a third marker light to me, but why in that position?

Thanks in advance.

If it's the one on the front cowling to the left of the coupler then I believe it's to illuminate for the forward facing camera.

If I remember correctly there is one in the pantograph well too for the camera situated there.

They're not lights, they're buttons but the covers fell off. ;)

This photo might help as it shows the light in question very clearly.

This really is the reason as 455 suggests, to assist with investigations as is the pantograph camera. You may notice the lights extinguish and illuminate as the driver selects Forward Neutral and Reverse on the drivers direction switch!

Not so much the forward facing camera but the 'track debris' camera which is additional to the forward facing camera. Not to be pedantic because I knew what you meant.
