Hi Folks,

Just out of interest has Bedworth Oil Terminal in Warwickshire ceased having fuel deliveries by rail?.

Not seen anything use it for quite a while - think January 2018 was the last time a train went in from Immingham (operated by GBRf)

Cheers in Advance for any info.

It is mentioned as having closed around January according to the latest edition of Branch Line News, IIRC.

Was a odd depot as you had to split and join the consist to get in and out on the mainline as the sidings were short.

I didn't know that, cheers.

Coincidentally I noticed the other day that Q paths from Bedworth to Robeston had reappeared on rtt. I remember hearing about the cessation of these services but obviously I didn't know the terminal was due to close.

Shame I think there used to be a working from the South Wales oil refinery also.

One of the few workings with class 60s but I understand it was nearly all 66s towards the end?

Yes that's correct. Lindsey Oil Refinery to Bedworth Murco, sometimes hauled by a 60 although I never got the chance to see it sadly.

You don't have to now at Kingsbury, you do propel back in off the mainline though. Even worse when coming out to go towards Derby, propelling out over both lines! Blocks the lines for a good 10 minutes or more.

I remember that, and the joy on the faces of the HST Drivers as they came to a stand!

Thank you everyone for the replies, I was unaware the terminal had closed. With regards to arriving and departing trains, the trains back in off of the "mainline" into one siding, split the rake, pull out again and reverse into the other siding. As it's only a Class 153 per hour the manoeuvre didn't really cause much disruption to passenger services however :lol:
