I'm going to be starting at York next month. I know NR sort out accommodation but will I have to get myself there and back at the weekend or is travel covered as well?

You'll be provided with train tickets from your nearest station. If you want to travel any other way then you're on your own.

Your LOM will booked tickets on Sunday evening going up and Friday afternoon coming back, usually you'll get two weeks in advance - you can collect them on the day of travel from your home station.
