Railcard renewal at station in advance?

My Annual Gold Card entitles me to a F&F railcard for £10, which can only be purchased at the ticket office.

My current one is about to expire. Does anybody know if I can renew at the ticket office in advance without losing validity, or do I need to wait until the expiry date?

Renewal can be done up to a month before the expiry date, with no loss of validity.
