Railtour to Chester 17th Oct question

Can anybody help with this rail tour?
Excursion by WCRC on the 17th Oct to Chester, most railway mags have it down as diesel from Scarborough to Preston then steam to Chester and return. When you read the WCRC rail tour details it is diesel throughout and goes through Sheffield and Hatherslade no were near Preston.

Loco TBA: Preston-Chester and return
On their website said where the route is go by Scarborough, Seamer, Malton, York, Moorthorpe, Sheffield and Hathersage this should go through Manchester then Preston where the steam is but this is why change not go to Preston because there is no steam available, I think you may go via Atrincham to Chester I am not sure.

Magazine can be wrong sometimes or printed before they change trip
