Ready for Signalling School

Well after a long drawn out process I've been allocated a place at Signalling School starting 23rd April to then go onto a grade 2 post at Daisyfield Blackburn.
I have not yet received anything for signalling school so hopefully someone maybe able to answer a couple of questions.
1. Where will we be accommodated for the course.
2. Will the course run on Bank Holidays.

If anyone currently at Daisyfield could you give me an idea of the shift pattern please.

23rd April course is at Basingstoke. You'll likely stay in 'The Basingstoke Hotel' and no you won't be required to attend school during BHs

So there isn't a course at York in April.

No mate. The York course is currently on week 3 and they also have time off for Easter. I know the Basingstoke trainer is starting his next course on 23rd April so pretty likely, that, that's where you're heading.

Thanks for that. My own fault just took it for granted that it would be York. Ah well Basingstoke here i come

Gone are the days when each region had its own school. I went to Derby for mine; then again that was nearly 20 years ago.

Accyman, I wouldn't presume. At any one time there can be 5 (possibly 6) signalling courses running at York at one time, AB, NX & VDU, all with non-concurrent start dates! One York course may be on week 3, but other's won't be!

Chances are it will be at York. There are more courses there than anywhere else and its quite fun. Look on the bright side, if its a long journey you will be paid for your time travelling! Enjoy school but make sure you put a lot of effort in. It will be rewarded.

Oh dont worry about effort it'll get 100 percent. Its a great opportunity which im really looking forward too.
