I am unable to find a bus or coach that carries a specific livery
More like a hotch-potch of what ever they purchased and has then had their name applied to it

Plain white is an excellent colour scheme for coaches, as this can be used on almost any job
The two tone blue would be great for use on Parks or CityLink, but they are not likely to be awarded any of that work

Yes, for contract work with other operators, plain white is by far the best colour to have.

I am quite surprised that Stagecoach Fife is selling 1993 J reg buses already
In the past Stagecoach would have transferred these between group companies to meet other requirements
Also, this was one of the first major batches of Alexander bodies when Stagecoach went public
I therefore assume there is something uniqu about this batch and it makes more sense to dispose of them rather than retain and maintain them at a higher cost

Equally, since they were sold locally, I would assume there is a restrictive sales agreement meaning the bus cannot be used on farebox duties, and only on contract or hire work

It was a similar story round here - Lancaster had a batch of 10 (J201 HFR thru to J210 HFR), they would have been sold but Carlisle gained a lot of schools work, so they were moved up there at the last minute.

Lothian are busily selling M reg Olympians and will shortly be selling the P-reg ones, no doubt! However, they actually bother with things like buying new buses, and keeping the ones they have in decent condition.

Equally, since they were sold locally, I would assume there is a restrictive sales agreement meaning the bus cannot be used on farebox duties, and only on contract or hire work

First, for example, will not sell on any bus for continued PSV use of any kind; it must be scrapped, exported, or preserved. I think this is after they sold a batch of bendy buses in 2000 which were subsequently used to compete against it.

Love the way that the roof hasn't been painted and it's still in Stagecoach Livery on the Leyland Deckers.

Strangely enough, round here Stagecoach seem to be painting roofs all white.
Whereas before the strips continued over the top of the roof, they now stop at the cantails.

It seems to be being done as a priority as well - it's being done even though the buses arn't due in for painting.

its not so much selling them, rennies are owned by Stagecoach. Jack Rennie retired in March, and stagecoach bought the business.

I think the white roofs are in response to the experiments carried out in London in a bid to reuce the furness like conditions of the upper decks. The white paint seems to reflect the heat and aiding in cooling the saloons.

What an absolute joke.
I can see it making a difference on urban routes where the buses never really get up any speed, but in areas such as Lancaster/Morecambe/Kendal, this doesn't apply.

The influence of Stagecoach Fife is being felt in another way. Rennies, prior to 2007, had started to move to high capacity coaches, as opposed to double deckers, for schools work. Now, Stagecoach Fife has transfered 3 Leyland Olympians to Rennies, and 3 coaches have been ousted. In early 2009, another two double deckers are due to move, for the same purpose.

The new rennies logo has been applied to a coach, though it retains the old lettering on the front.
