I see from the Eurostar website that it is not taking any more bookings on certain days for Ebbsfleet- Disneyland Paris" to stop the departure lounge there getting too full on those days" Passengers are instead told to travel from St Pancras or Ashford.

Has this happened before - seems very odd for a train company to stop selling tickets because a station cant cope with the volume of passengers. Anyone know what the maximum number of passengers Ebbsfleet can handle at a time?

Presumably those same passengers would go to Ebbsfleet to get a Southeastern service to St Pancras.

I also note that you can't get a CIV ticket from Ebbsfleet to London so no protection if you miss the connection.

In which case they wouldn't need to use the departure lounge.

If the departure lounge gets full, just let passengers on to the platform early, plenty of space there.

It's not as if Ebbsfleet gets a lot of Eurostar services, nothing after lunch on Saturday for example.
