If you're talking about Retro Railtours, I've been on two and both have been excellent. Never had a problem on one of them and they are normally well-used.

I haven't yet travelled with Retro Railtours, but have booked on their Southend Airshow Railtour from Leeds.

Route is Huddersfield, Stalybridge, Stockport, Stoke on Trent, Rugby, Wembley Central, Gospel Oak, Upper Holloway & Barking to Southend.

Motive Power is 31454+31601.

If you are near the engines, class 31 exhausts are thick and smelly, and bounce up and down like a yo yo over 45mph. Take a gas masks

We are offering a further £5 off the Advance fare for members of this forum, if I can tempt you to do the Southend trip? :) (that only applies in standard class as part of our group booking, not in 1st class)

Sounds good, but it would require a 99% reduction for me to consider a railtour to that dump!

I'll get my coat.

theblackwatch, yes, 47580 fits the bill with the Cargo-D set.

But wait for 50026, 50044 & 50049! they would be fitting & 55022

31s are a bit more environmentally friendly than 50s!

If 50's are non environmental, at the side of 31's then they must be very bad.

As the TOC for this tour is DB Schenker, who is providing the stock?

You would be a lot better off with West Coast Railways.
DB are one of the all time worst employers ever seen in this land.

I still want to see a mainline class 45 'Peak' on the RBC stock. Is it ever likely to happen?!

We travelled in first class on the deltic last year

Is the carriages the same this year as last ! I think we were 3 from the back - think half the carriage was premier dining and our half was first class

cheers
