Anyone still play it? I'm working on a few parks at the moment on RCT2 and know of a few users here who have also enjoyed the series. Feel free to discuss your projects, and whatever else is to do with the RCT series here.

I play it on and off quite a bit myself.

Earlier this year i got RCT 1 and 2 off good old games (gog.com) so runs with Win 7 etc without issue.

Also do use RCT 3 as well.

I have been a massive fan of the series since number 1 and most likely have played hundreds of hours on it.

I'm still a big fan of RCT2 and play it quite a bit.

Although I gotta admit, I'm no good at it. I can create good roller coasters that attract the customers. Although more often than not I end up running the park into the ground.

Actualy, I think I might go and play it for a bit now...

I downloaded number 3 again the other day. Haven't got round to playing it yet, may do in a minute actually.

Never actually played it properly for a long time, I used to do well for a little bit, get bored, waste all my money on building a mahoosive roller coaster and losing all customers. Good fun :)

I love RCT, I play the 3rd one. The only problem is is that half my rides break and if you call a mechanic to it nothing happens :/

Also it's hard to start it from scratch, you just don't know what to do.
Nevertheless, a good game

I have got RCT3 with wild and soaked add-on packs and have been playing it for quite a few years now. I like to build my own theme parks - nearly always I will first build the transport system then build around that; I like to build underground monorails around the perimeter of the park - land is not wasted then by stations then.

I loved the original RollerCoaster Tycoon - and played it through plenty of times, as well as its expansion packs. I never enjoyed the subsequent games as much, though most people seem to think that RCT2 was the best. I've actually got a copy of RCT3 sat on the side behind me, but have yet to get around to playing it properly (got to finish Dishonoured first!).

I have recently updated my Mac to Mountain Lion, which no longer supports PowerPC App's, which mean's I can't play RCT! :(

Just bumping this thread for a bit of nostalgia.

On my rest day last week I had a browse on Good Old Games and discovered that the original RCT was available for a couple of dollars (£1.92 converted). It's a tiny download but I've had such fun playing it again - especially as it now works on later versions of Windows without patching. So far I've completed Forest Frontiers (the easiest level), Dymaite Dunes and am well on the way with Leafy Lake. It's bringing back many memories, and I must admit I'm setting all the parks up the same way I used to - the Merry-Go-Round music is also stuck in my head.

I've still not played RCT3, I really should but it's not quite the same without the isometric view and the total involvement of Chris Sawyer.

Also, for nostalgia I downloaded Theme Hospital and Tropico - who else loved those? :)

Good to see another GOG user :D + Don't forget you can download the sound tracks etc as well though.

Discovered it awhile ago, and love it - the prices are fantastic, $2.00 for a full game isn't something I can say no to. I've got the Soundtrack, and I like the fact they include the PDF manual as well, not something you get everywhere. I remember with games like RCT, getting the manual out the box (when PC games came in a big box) and reading them on the bus home. I always read them cover to cover, not something you generally get with games now!

ahh Roller Coaster Tycoon. I've attempted to fully complete the original + all expansions so many times, and nearly always when I'm near the end of a tab of missions, my laptop either breaks or deletes my game >_< such an awesome game though, I still play it a couple of times just to mess around and waste some time :D

I still have the hard copy of the RCT 1 manual and the second one as well. Also all the disks as well :D

Exactly can't say no to such a little amount for one of the best build/ theme style games out.
