I hold a Annual Season Ticket (Travelcard Gold Card): CHATHAM and LONDON ZONES 1-6 (PLUS HIGH SPEED).

Am I right in thinking that this is available for all the shortest routes from Chatham to the various Zone 6 Boundary stations - obviously valid on HS1 to St Pancras, also frequently used and accepted via Bromley South or Dartford to relevant London Terminals.

But what about - Strood to Knockholt via Tonbridge? Also Strood to Orpington via Tonbridge (the shortest route to Orpington probably being via Bromley South).

My understanding is that you look for what would be permitted routes from the origin station to the boundary station if you had a ticket from the origin station to the boundary station. But only permitted routes that don't go into Zones 6 to 1. So from Chatham to Knockholt, for example, Chatham-Swanley- Otford-Sevenoaks-Knockholt is fine, but Chatham-Strood-Maidstone West-Paddock Wood-Tonbridge-Knockholt is not permitted.

That's right, and booking engines will offer Travelcard fares with itineraries, where this is permitted.
