Runcorn To Workington Cheapest Fares

Hi,

Can anyone provide some suggestions for cheapest fares (flexible and non flexible) for Runcorn to Workington on Saturday 19th October leaving Runcorn after 9am and leaving Workington after 17.00.

Off to see Runcorn play the mighty Workington Reds!? Leaving at 09:27 gets you in at 12:58, and leaving at 17:47 gets you back in at 21:21, £36.50 on advances without railcard and changing at Crewe and Carlisle both ways. It's not cheaper when splitting the fare on advances. Flexible costs nearly £60 with splits and would have to go through certain stations anyway.

That is the plan yes just working out whether driving or train is better! £36.50 is not bad at all really!

Definitely takes a bit longer as the railway doesn't cut across Cumbria like the A66 does but allows a few jars on the way! Also means you won't get stuck with all the matchday traffic!
