Can’t see any other thread on this.

The latest TfL Board Finance committee papers have a section on sale of Lillie Bridge depot
pages 53-66

The Approval recommended is to dispose of Lillie Bridge Depot and Ashfield House

Agenda also says pages 119-132 (but these are in exempt, not public section due to commercial sensitivities section so no idea what is in this)

Was thinking of copying the text, for easy reading, but 14 pages of text seems excessive (pages 53-66)

Appendix 2 (page 63) has a map which suggests 6 new berthing roads will be provided between Turnham Green and Chiswick Park. Details are not clear but appears to be where the former flyunder lines were (between the District track towards Gunnersbury and the 4 main tracks). Another 6 berths will be added to Parsons Green area

To me, what's interesting is what's being proposed to replace Lillie Bridge Depot
The requirement is to provide stabling off-site for 12 S7 District line trains, berthing for an engineer’s train/engineering vehicles and to retain road-to-rail vehicle access at Lillie Bridge. Three potential locations have been identified from a long list of 25: new stabling on land between Chiswick Park and Turnham Green; expansion of existing stabling at Parsons Green; land north of LBD for engineer’s train/engineering vehicles and road-to-rail vehicle access. Wider operational requirements including train crew accommodation are being considered. There is a net quantified non-cash operational benefit of circa £0.5m per annum, principally reduced non-revenue travel.

Indeed, former goods trackbed alongside down District track. Two roads, 6-berths - Staff access from Chiswick Park station.
Parsons Green: additional siding alongside 28 Road (westbound side, east of station); additional sidings on TfL land (former buildings department) alongside 27 Road (eastbound side, east of station).

One of the proposed sites was 'Lillie Bridge north', sidings alongside Sinclair Road (former MotorRail site) - which would have required a rebuild of Olympia station to allow LU trains access to the site.

I note that Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lillie_Bridge_Depot) reports the 2014 plan documented at http://content.tfl.gov.uk/lillie-bridge-depot-feasibility-report-redacted.pdf
Due to the operational costs associated with each stabling location, LU set a requirement that the twelve berths must be provided by no more than two sites. Following an analysis of the proposed options and in light of the aforementioned requirement, LU determined that the only realistic solution was to incorporate stabling facilities within the new development. Note; although provision of nine stabling berths at Maclise Road was considered feasible by LU (to be supplemented by another site), the impact on the area and the associated costs and risks of that option led to it being ruled out.

In order to provide the twelve berths at LBD and in consideration of the Masterplan and the east-west alignment/gradient of the site, it was decided that to maximize development potential the most beneficial solution was to provide a subterranean stabling facility immediately adjacent to the West London line. This design minimized the impact on the development above it and comprised twelve berths made up of six double length roads

It should be noted that during the development of the stabling box option, other alternative stabling options were informally considered but none were found to be worth progressing further due to the same reasons as above i.e. no two sites large enough to provide twelve berths, the costs of providing stabling was greater than LBD and had inherent risks.
It would appear that this plan to retain stabling berths underneath the new development has been superseded today and replaced with berths in other locations as discussed above.

I wonder if this will mean the complete closure of the District Line to Olympia if there is no longer any need to use the line for depot access?
