Hello

I was just wondering what the best ticket(s) would be to set off from Salford Central then visit Bolton and Rochdale one after the other before returning home? Do you have to buy two return tickets?

Salford to Bolton return = £7.90
Salford to Rochdale return = £9.40
Total = £17.30

It's cheaper than

Salford to Bolton single = £5.20
Bolton to Rochdale single = £7.80
Rochdale to Salford single = £6.10
Total = £19.10

I'd guess you're not allowed to buy the £12.50 Rochdale to Bolton return at Salford Central, start in the middle and double back twice although it involves travelling the exact same distance. Bolton's barrier swallows outbound tickets anyway.

Thank you very much.

GM Rail Ranger at £8.20 would cover the planned itinerary, if all travel (Mon-Fri) is 0930-1600 or after 1830.

Just to add that if you board a train before 16.00 you can complete your journey on that train even after 1600.
