Yes they are not getting off to the best of starts.

Cover the 'f' up on your uniform, Club 55, train failures, Sunday services cancellations, threat of non appearance of HSTs due to slow down in GW electrification.

Whilst the latter might be akin to dubious refereeing, some of the others are 'own goals'. Have heard various reports and none that favourable. I'll have a Sportsmans (bet) that Abellio might do an East Coast.

It does appear that some of this was not thought through.

The Sunday issue could be very easily sorted out. Last year during the Commonwealth games Scotrail attached a premium to Sunday working, ISTR there was no shortage of volunteers with even staff who were permanent NA falling over themselves with offers to work.

I remember Central Trains having driver issues with no one wanting to work the Sunday, Central then offered an enhanced rate of pay and drivers started volunteering. Think it was double time?

London Midland then show up, stop the payment to save money, drivers stopped coming in, trains got cancelled, Centro and DfT start to ask awkward questions and the circle starts again.
