I planned to get the 09.07 from Mount Florida. I was aware it would likely be busy, and had plenty of time if I didn't get in on it to travel in by bus or cycle.
A 3-car 318(?) trundled in at full capacity. Some people from Mount Florida squeezed in, but many left on the platform waiting on the next one at 09.38. A late runner was taken into the back drivers carriage so they didn't miss their start time.
I ended up cycling in (not a bad plan as good warm up for the legs) as didn't want to risk waiting on the bus.
Even without the strikes, I don't think there would have been many/any earlier trains. It might have affected ScotRail's ability to put on a 6-car train. It's disappointing though they weren't able to.
