Hi

Im hoping to do the Sleeper early next year, but for some reason there are no tickets available for the next few weeks (was just to get an idea on timings etc), does anyone know why?

It currently seems to get completely sold out around peak tourist time (which is about now).

Ah fair enough, forgot about that! How fair in advance can you book? The usual 3 months or so?

12 months, if you use their own website.

What origin/destination pair are you looking for?

Can you paste the URL please, or state the date and journey, and we will investigate? I would expect there to be some availability on all routes in March next year. Do be aware that there are no trains on Saturday nights.

Yeah its Thursday 21st March Im looking at, Preston to Inverness
Is that departing Preston at 00:30 on the 21st (i.e. the 21:15 departure from Euston on the 20th) or 00:30 on the 22nd (i.e. departing Euston on the 21st)?

Looking on the Cally Sleeper website, there's availability from Euston both nights, no availability from Watford Junction either night, availability from Crewe both nights, and "no fares" from Preston for either night (though there's availability on the nights either side.)

Yeah ive only looked from Preston to be fair but just keep getting no fares, even on other booking sites - potentially I could go from Crewe though

The Highlander (Inverness, Aberdeen, Fort William) no longer stops at Watford Junction in either direction.

No booking site other than sleeper.scot will currently sell you Caledonian Sleeper sleeper tickets for March 2024 - it's too far ahead for them.

That said, there is clearly something odd going on here, with Highlander services and fares, especially around the last few weeks of March and at Easter 2024. We'll investigate next week.

I wonder... are they doing more ECML diversions at that time?
