The journey I'd be making is Coventry-Euston.

You can get a discount if you are making the journey to travel between home and work. If it's not for that purpose, you won't get a discount.

Only if you are travelling for duty between home and work, though. You need to apply specially for a Priv-discounted season via your employer.
