I haven't been doing stations properly for years. Here and there, if the opportunity presents itself I might use a station I haven't done before. A few examples are: I ticked off a few on the West Coastway in May 2021, a few on the East Kilbride line in January 2021 and Heald Green got done in 2019, but generally I don't bother these days. That being said, I did a few recently and it somehow feels appropriate to note them here. Note I have no intention of returning to the days of doing stations, that's way too much effort and not enough fun!

I might one day dust off the old list of stations I haven't visited, but it's not too likely. I still haven't done Kenilworth, the only station in the WMDR area that is currently open which I have not done. It's not hard to do, but I just can't be bothered to go after it!

Certainly did.

The arrival at Lakenheath was about 11:15, so plenty of time for the ~50 minute walk to Lakenheath town for lunch, then the ~1h 45m walk to Shippea Hill for the 16:20 departure.

Sadly, I wasn't the only passenger joining the train at SPP.

Why “sadly” - surely the more, the better!

It takes away the magic of being the only passenger at a "least used" station, particularly one in the middle of nowhere.

I'd view that more as a confidence in the train actually turning up personally. I remember my long fester at Builth Road, for example, it was actually nice to see other people again after so long!

Oh, and Spoiler Alert, there may be another entry from me on this thread before the month is out!

Yes, I would certainly have welcomed some company in the gathering gloom on an unlit Rawcliffe a couple of months ago!

A few from yesterday's trip to Wiltshire. After Salisbury to Frome I had hoped to chip off a few west of SAL but delays and cancellations prevented that.
I spent my delay repay in the Wetherspoons in advance.

Would have been a lot more if it wasn't for the bomb scare at Darlington. Win some, you lose some!
