Should Rail Replacement Buses change the routes for which tickets are available?

I'm thinking that having planned the journey in the usual way, if one of the legs is a replacement bus (train category "BR") then the validation on the journey could be... eased... a bit
Understood, but the problem with the case that started the thread was that journey planners were not identifying the journey because of the route the bus caused to be taken, so you need to identify that an invalid route has a replacement bus before you can make it valid. I think!

But without applying route restrictions, would it be possible to identify the presence of a replacement bus?
I must admit that I always (perhaps naively) assumed that, because RRBs are so common, systems were set up to take account of them.

They normally are picked up, this is an unusual case.
