Could anyone explain what the descriptions in platforms 1 & 3 at Orpington this evening mean? (*CUT & TIII)

Thanks in advance!

"TIII" I'm reasonably sure is referring to a T3 engineering possession. Network Rail have control over a defined section of track and no services can enter that section without authority. This is normally for maintenance or part of an ongoing incident.

"*CUT" I'm less sure about but could be referring to a unit that's been berthed in that platform and "cut out"?

Platform 3, T111, must be a T3 line block, that track section is under possession.
The *CUT is a puzzle, could it be "Currently Under Test" for example the S&T are testing the track, using a Dropshunt box, in such case the Signaller wouldse see his track circuit indicator for platform 1 ( incidentally a Bay platform line ) going from occupied to clear as the s&T test proceeds
