To be blunt, court is virtually unavoidable.

The forum is aware of a very small number of cases where a solicitor has persuaded TfL to issue a warning instead but this was before a SJPN was issued.

What mitigation do you have? Did you respond already to TfL’s verification letter?

What are the facts of the case? What bylaw are you being charged under, and why?

To be honest I don’t really have any mitigation and in my response to the verification I pleaded being sorry for my actions of not traveling with an oyster card with sufficient funds though they still further on sent the SJPN. Bylaw 17

That's not surprising for TfL. If you're guilty it may be a good idea to plead guilty and benefit from the one-third reduction this will give you to any fine imposed by the court.
