I’m reading through my P1 rulebook regarding Single Line Working and wondered if somebody could clear up a little confusion I have.
In section 3 p12 there’s a table detailing the handsignals for proceeding over crossings. It states a yellow flag will be shown “at any controlled level crossing protected by signals where the hand signal is shown opposite the signal protecting the level crossing”.
Can anyone give me an example of where this would be the case please? I thought green handsignals were used to instruct drivers to pass over level crossings.
If a handsignaller is appointed would they not act as an attendant at the crossing itself (green flag)?
Thanks
