Hi All,
I was watching a few trains go past Stevenage on the ECML yesterday when there was a long gap in the Intercity trains, and when a train finally appeared it was going very slowly.
When it finally got near me I realised it was a southbound class 66 hauling a load of concrete blocks very slowly on the fast line. Normally at this time (approx 9:30 am) the down fast is end to end HSTs and 225s. Yesterday there seemed to be considerable disruption to the express schedule because of this working, yet the slow line was only lightly used.
Does anyone know why this working was on this line? Just curious...
Best regards
Jonathan
