Argentina has just taken delivery of this solar-charging battery charging tram train
Not a very performance demanding route, but another option to look at for Windermere, Morecambe, Barrow or maybe the Cornish branches
Or a replacement for the class 230 / Parry People Mover or the Isle of Wight

Short delivery time as well

Chinese CRRC has produced the first battery-powered tram-train for Argentina

07.06.2023
The rolling stock was manufactured at the factory in Tangshan under a contract signed in 2022, according to Railway Supply magazine, citing Rollingstock.

CRRC states that it took 7 months to create the vehicle.

The two-car tram-trains will be used for the tourist line between Volcan and Tilcara, with a length of 43 km and a maximum speed of 60 km/h.

The passenger cabin, featuring panoramic windows, is designed to accommodate 72 passengers, and the seats can rotate 180 degrees.

There is also the possibility of operating in a multiple-unit system, which will increase the capacity to 388 individuals. The driver’s cabs are located on both ends of the train.
The rolling stock is equipped with two lithium iron phosphate batteries with a capacity of 352 kWh, installed on the roof. Solar energy is planned to be used for charging.

Any type of tram on the Cornish branch lines isn't working with the highly seasonal demand. It's better to have conventional gangwayed units as they can run 1 car shuttles in the Winter but then I've seen them run as 6 cars in the Summer. Any the stock can be moved around the network as required

The shortest trains GWR have (and for some branches, the only GWR class that can run them) are the 2 car 150s
153s are heavily falling out of use except for the Heart of Wales Line where the last few will spend their life. (idk how ScotRail's 5 are doing)

Wonder what it weighs. A heavy vehicle is the last thing a barely viable branch line needs.

”Seven months to create the vehicle” is very non-specific, does that mean just the fabrication or does it include design time as well?

It's also not clear whether the intended use of solar charging means solar panels on the vehicle roofs or a solar powered charger installed adjacent to the terminus/termini.
