South Devon Railway, Totnes, 1988

I am looking for the exact last date that the South Devon Railway (as it is now) ran into Totnes main line station. There's plenty online to confirm it was 1988, but when? Such moves definitely happened through mid-August; I suspect the last was 1 September. In 1988, that was a Thursday - is that likely? Can anyone help please with a definitive date?

I’m pretty sure it was the following day, Friday 2nd.
