I think you mean Southern's Brighton - Southampton trains. FGW only run two trains per day from Brighton.

Nope I meant the FGW Brighton-Worcester/Malvern ones, looking at the most recent timetale they've chopped them back , I'm sure that when I was commuting Havant-Fareham for a few months back in the summer before last they ran every hour at least in the afternoons.

You are mistaken I'm afraid. The timetable for FGW services to Brighton has been the same for years, and even before then it was far from hourly. There are a few more services on Sundays, but not hourly by any means.

The north side of the Farlington triangle (ie Cosham to/from Havant) has only a limited SWT service. It is, however, used as part of Southern's Victoria - Southampton service

Yes, but the earlier post was asking about limited service areas of SWT's network.

That doesn't stop it being a normal part of SN's network as well... :D

Correct, the 0900 and 1700 from Brighton have run for a couple of decades at least, FGW have not operated more than that except for a summer dated Brighton to Bristol that used to run fast between Southampton and Bath and that only operated for a couple of years in the early days of privatisation around noon from Brighton.

I'm not sure if you're still intending to board at Woking, but going back to an earlier point in the thread, it's dawned on me you can get the Victoria line direct from King's Cross to Vauxhall and meet the Woking train there instead of Waterloo.

Southern run a fairly high frequency service across the top of Farlington triangle - 2 per hour each way weekdays early till late - Southampton to Brighton & London Victoria. Further to comments on SWT - beware anything that might be influenced by Reading Station closure over the christmas period. SWT run a frequent service from REading to Waterloo as well as services to Gatwick which if disrupted will impact services around them - possibly anything north of the main line to Basingstoke. Apart from that I think Roger Ford has just award the Siemens Desiros the accolade of Britain's most reliable trains so if you are late it is unlikely to be through train failure - (unless you end up on a 458 Juniper! :)

To the op (or anyone)

Do you have the timings for the Orton Towers Railtour today please?

I just need the timing for Gospel Oak/Camden Road (or WIllesden Junction High Level)

That's assuming she's not going via Primrose Hill ?

Would be most grateful, and I'll put the results on youtube.

Thanks anyway.

I think she would clock Gospel Oak at around 08:00 based on those timings, but it's the not knowing whether it would go via Primrose Hill, so a trip to Camden Road might be in order to be on the safe side

Managed to get the times for you, it's going to be 08:24 at West Hampstead TL, 08:32 at Upper Holloway and 08:37 at Harringay Park Junction so that ought to be of some help.

So she went via the Barking line!

Alas I missed out this time. Thanks for letting me know.

Cheers, Happy new year,

Ben
