It is definitely in Punjabi (in the Gurmukhi script as used by Sikhs), as per my post above, and not in Hindi or any other language that uses the Devanagari script.

On my Ryanair flight from Dublin a few days ago the captain with an Eastern European name said we were going to Bermingum
